On Tuesday, Nepal got 800,000 doses of Vero Cell Covid-19 vaccinations as a donation from China. This is the first batch of the one million doses promised to Nepal by Chinese President Xi Jinping last week.
A Nepal Airlines plane that had flown from Kathmandu to Beijing the night before returned to Tribhuvan International Airport with the vaccines today afternoon.
According to officials, the remaining 200,000 dosages will be supplied on behalf of China’s Tibet autonomous territory. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it would arrive in Kathmandu in three segments on Tuesday and Wednesday.
