The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport has organized a taskforce to investigate the flood and landslide damage to roads and bridges. Deepak Shrestha, Chief of the Bridge Division, Department of Roads, leads the seven-member taskforce.
The taskforce has until July 22 to give its recommendations and study report. The team has been tasked with assessing the damage caused by floods and landslides produced by torrential rains on bridges in the works and those that have already been completed.
According to the Ministry, the taskforce has been urged to deliver a report on ways to minimize structural damage and preventative steps to be implemented in the coming days.
