Film actress Jenny Kunwar has committed suicide. She committed suicide at his Sunrise City apartment in Thapagaun, Kathmandu at around 8 pm on Thursday, according to police.
According to Metropolitan Police Circle Baneshwor Police Inspector Keshar Neupane, her body was found inside Sahi’s apartment. According to the police, a preliminary investigation has revealed that she had committed suicide and a case is being prepared for further investigation.
Kunwar, who started her acting journey from the film ‘Zindagani’, has acted in many films including Maidan, Jeevandata, Kanun, Abhimanyu, Bintipatra, Malai Maaf Garideu and others. Jenny, who spent a long time in New Delhi, was busy with Nepali films. Her last film was Halchal.
Lately, she had been dressing up as a sadhu and spent most of her time at the Pashupati temple premises. She had gone viral on YouTube after a scuffle with the police at Pashupati premises.
Depression is the cause of Suicide: Police
Police said that the initial investigations revealed that her suicide was due to depression.
After the incident, the police had questioned Kunwar’s husband Man Bahadur. According to her husband’s statement to the police, Jenny had been depressed for over a year and was taking medication. Jenny, who had been at Vipassana for six months, was in a critical mental condition. It is mentioned in the statement given by Man Bahadur to the police that the incident may have taken place at around 8 o’clock. Man Bahadur stated that he was at work during that time.
Police are sending the body to a teaching hospital for postmortem.
