Christopher Johan Kulish died of cardiac arrest on May 27, 2019, at Camp IV while returning to base camp after reaching the summit of the world’s highest peak, according to police.
An expedition team recovered the 61-year-old climber’s body and transported it to Camp II. Efforts to recover his body at the time were futile due to inclement weather.
The number on his passport is 509651062. Tag Nepal Trekking Company coordinated his ten-person expedition, according to District Police Office Deputy Superintendent of Police Kabit Katuwal.
Until the publication of this report, plans were being made to airlift the body from Camp II.
