The agricultural budget has been boosted by the government. Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel presented the budget for fiscal year 2078/79, allocating Rs. 45.09 billion for the development of agriculture and livestock. Similarly, Rs. 12 billion has been set aside for the procurement of agricultural chemical fertilizers.
The government has made it a policy to provide the infrastructure needed to support organic farming. As a result, Finance Minister Poudel has pledged a 50 percent subsidy for the development of grocery stores.
