According to Upendra Gautam, managing director of United Modi Hydro Power Limited, the 10-megawatt hydropower project in Sundarekhola at Dobilla in Kushma Municipality-8 and the Modi River in the district, was damaged by floods.
The disaster damaged a 300-metre stretch of canal in the Hydel. Over 50 Project technicians and staffers worked consistently for a week to repair the flood-damaged hydropower project.
According to Gautam, the Hydel produced 9.5 megawatts of electricity on Sunday following maintenance, and the scale of damage was estimated to be around Rs 50 million.
The Hydel’s power production house, on the other hand, did not suffer the same fate as the Hydel’s sewerage, he claimed. Since the water level in the Modi River was still very high, details of the damages were being collected and assessed.
On the same day, the swollen Sundarekhola River swept away a vehicle used by the Mid-Hill Highway Project.
