Today, a Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) plane is heading to China to deliver Vero Cell vaccinations that Nepal has acquired.
According to Dr Krishna Prasad Poudel, spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, a wide-body A330 aircraft will fly to China three times until July 23 to ship all amounts of vaccinations bought from China through government-to-government (G2G) channels.
On July 9, the first shipment will arrive. Similarly, for the second lot, the plane will take off on July 15 and arrive on July 16. It will take off on July 22nd and arrive on July 23rd with the third batch.
“This is a hefty shipment. “However, the precise amount is unknown,” he stated. Sinopharm Company in China manufactured the vaccinations.
He stated that people under the age of 60 would be given priority for vaccinations.
Covid-19 vaccine doses have been distributed to 4,248,000 people in the country so far. It intends to protect 22 million people over the age of 18 against the disease. The second dose has been given to 851,300 people, while the first dose has been given to 2,611,807 people.
