On Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will meet with his Nepali counterpart Pradeep Kumar Gyawali in a community meeting.
Concerned officials say Wang will hold a virtual meeting with Nepal’s, Afghanistan’s, Pakistan’s, Sri Lanka’s, and Bangladesh’s foreign ministers later today.
The availability of Covid-19 vaccines, as well as other issues related to Covid-19 control in the South Asian region, will be addressed at the meeting, according to an official.
In all of these nations, the incidence of infection has recently increased. For Covid-19 regulation, China has emphasized regional cooperation.
Meanwhile, many believe China is taking advantage of the South Asian public health crisis to expand its influence in the region.
