PM Oli objected to NC President Deuba addressing President Bhandari as ‘timi,’ a colloquial term for ‘you,’ during a program in Baluwatar on Saturday afternoon.
PM Oli said, “Today I saw the official statement of Nepali Congress President Deuba,” adding, “He used derogatory terms to address the President.”
He wondered if the NC President would address noble families’ dignitaries in the same way.
“Would he have used the same vocabulary if it had been about a feud or an aristocratic family member?” “It is shameful that the leaders who used to be subservient to the royalists are speaking humiliatingly about the country’s elected president,” PM Oli said.
He went on to say that the NC President’s rhetoric against President Bhandari was anti-republican.
