Ram Bahadur Thapa, who was elected to the National Assembly in 2017 as a member of the CPN-Maoist Centre, has lost his membership, according to the National Assembly Secretariat.
Thapa is one of a number of KP leaders who have joined the party. Following Oli’s dissolution of the House of Representatives in December 2020, Sharma Oli led the CPN-UML by defecting to the Maoist Centre.
For the same cause, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Lekh Raj Bhatta, Prabhu Sah, and Gauri Shankar Chaudhary were removed from the House of Representatives.
Thapa lost his home ministership as well as his legislatorship when he was inducted into the cabinet as a member of parliament.
Now, if Oli wishes to keep Thapa as his home minister, he must reappoint him, just as he did for Rayamajhi, Bhatta, Sah, and Chaudhary just a few days ago.
