KATHMANDU: Kamal Thapa, chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), said the ruling party and the opposition alliance were making a mockery of the federal republic structure.
Thapa requested that both claims to form a coalition government be disqualified under Article 76 (5) because neither had strong grounds to win a vote of confidence in the parliament.
He also said that both sides claiming to be the government’s leader had used deception and forgery. He retaliated by slamming them for slandering the constitutional clause.
Thapa also demanded that the President announce mid-term elections by dismissing both claims filed on Friday.
Today, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba of the opposition alliance staked separate claims to form the coalition.
