The Singati Hydropower Project in Dolakha, which is being constructed on the Singati River, is expected to add 25 MW to the national grid. The project is now in the final stages of planning after failing to link to the national transmission line even 15 months after completion.
The project’s power generation structure was completed in Falgun, 2076 BS. Singati-Lamosanghu (40 km) 132 kV transmission line was designed to link the project to the national transmission line. However, the Nepal Electricity Authority was unable to complete the transmission line in time.
The project’s construction cost is estimated to be around Rs. 5.5 billion.
Under the leadership of Civil Bank, the project was completed with the participation of nine banks.
The project’s cost per megawatt is estimated to be around Rs. 220 million.
The project aims to sell 720 million rupees worth of electricity per year.
