KATHMANDU: The CPN (Maoist Center) has said that President Bidya Devi Bhandari has taken another unconstitutional move by rejecting the claims for prime minister made by both UMl Chairman KP Oli and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba.
The decision was called a “midnight robbery” by party chief Barshaman Pun.
Pun wrote on Twitter, “A robbery took place at midnight,” adding, “Gyanendra Shah also used to pick Fridays and midnights.”
According to Article 76 (5) of the Constitution, President Bidya Devi Bhandari has invalidated KP Oli and Sher Bahadur Deuba’s assertion.
Following the President’s announcement, a Cabinet meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.
