Should the government deploy the army on the border or not?

In Nepal, with an army of over 85,000, there seems to be a misuse of their capabilities. The military’s primary role is to defend the national border, but regrettably, they are occupied with profit-making activities like construction, tendering, running businesses, and more. This commercialization has deviated them from their core responsibilities.

While some of their tasks, such as managing national parks and conducting rescue operations during calamities, are commendable, there are troubling incidents like wildlife casualties during army deployments and instances of corruption.

Instead of confining the battalion within barracks, why doesn’t the government deploy them to secure the border? If their purpose aligns with border security, it might be advisable to either reduce their numbers or focus their efforts on fulfilling their intended role.
