Following the dissolution of parliament and declaration of mid-term elections by President Bhandari on the advice of the Prime Minister on Friday midnight, Spokesperson Sharma took to Twitter to say as much.
“Announcing mid-term elections at a time when the country is reeling from COVID-19 would be costly for Prime Minister Oli and President Bhandari,” tweeted Sharma.

The President and Prime Minister have offered mid-term elections to the Nepali people as a gift at a time when the country is reeling from the COVID-19, according to Sharma, who described the move as a new “Kotparwa.”
In response to President Bhandari’s announcement of the mid-term elections, NC central member Dr Shekhar Koirala said that rather than being the custodian of the Constitution, President Bhandari openly violated it.
“The President’s decision is illegal and it has plunged the nation into a perpetual abyss,” Koirala said on Twitter.

Similarly, CPN (Maoist Center) leader Barsha Man Pun has said that the President and Prime Minister violated the Constitution by announcing the mid-term elections in a Gyanendra-style on Friday night. According to Pun, former King Gyanendra Shah preferred Friday as well when staging a coup.
Pun took to social media to say that the mid-term elections were declared at midnight by committing a constitutional coup.

President Bhandari had announced the mid-term polls on Friday midnight by turning down Deuba and Oli’s claims for the post of Prime Minister on Friday midnight.
Nepal’s President Bhandari dissolved the House of Representatives on the recommendation of Prime Minister Oli and announced that mid-term elections would be held on November 12 and 19, a year ahead of schedule.
Likewise, Federal Council Chairman of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Dr Baburam Bhattarai has described the President’s move as a conspiracy to end federal democratic republic by scrapping the Constitution rather than the announcement of the mid-term polls.
