The Supreme Court has asked Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to send a clarification within the next 15 days in response to writ petitions asking the court to issue an interim order instructing him to take the oath of office again.
The court, on the other hand, declined to grant the petitioners’ requested interim order.
The petitions filed on Monday were heard by a single bench headed by Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana.
Following his re-appointment as Prime Minister on Friday last week, Oli took the oath of office and secrecy. After telling President Bidya Devi Bhandari, who was administering the oath, that “it’s not important,” he skipped “I affirm,” igniting the controversy.
