Hey fellow riders,
I hope you’re all having safe journeys out there. I am (21F) and I wanted to share an experience I’ve been facing lately and see if any of you have advice or similar stories.
So, I’ve noticed a trend during my evening scooter rides in the city, a surprising number of oncoming vehicles using high beams even in well-lit areas with streetlights. It’s become a bit of a safety concern for me, and I wanted to vent a bit and maybe get some insights from the community. Because the high light beams glare totally shines into my eyes by which I am unable to see any kind of potholes out there on the roads , it makes me prone to accidents. I totally get the need for high beams on darker, rural roads, but in the city with plenty of streetlights, it seems a bit unnecessary. The glare is not only discomforting but also dangerous, especially for two-wheeler riders like me.
It is a challenge for me everyday. Has anyone else experienced this, and how do you deal with it? Any advice will be appreciated.
Safe travels!

Pass light balne to let them know. Ani ajhai high beam nibhayena bhane afu ni baldine, works sometimes.
While I don’t own my own vehicle, I can understand the discomfort and the haphazard the high beams possess. And yes, this issue indeed needs to be raised and discussed.
it has always been an issue. maybe you just started riding and noticed very recently. i’ve given up on this issue and come to the conclusion that nepali people will never learn.
Idiot drivers using high beams are alarmingly high. My guess is 8 out of 10 drivers/riders have high beam. Either prople are ignorant or they just deliberately do this. When i encounter the opposite vehicle with high beam, i change mine to high as well. And they just dont care to lower their lights. So until they pass, i dont lower mine.
If there were better streets lights the necessity of high beam on main street would decrease I guess
all the time, this is a very big issue for me. The LED ones nearly blind you. I feel like most drivers don’t even bother about oncoming traffic.
Just yesterday I met a car with high beams on in a well lit area, I got so annoyed that I signaled the car till the driver switched to low beam. I have met so many drivers on the highway who don’t bother even if you signal them, like they don’t know why we are signaling them.
Baini, play fire with fire. Buy one of those battery operated focus lights and attach it to your bike handle. Agadiko gaadi high beam huney bittikai you turn it on and direct it towards them. Laatko bhuut haru…
Kinda problematic.Ma high/low/high/low gardinchu, koi le low beam garcha koi matlab didaina. Kati choti afnai visor ma headlight reflect bhayera blind hunchu. Options ta kei cha jasto lagdaina, everyday struggle ho. Traffic police le ni ekchoti high beam nachalaunu bhanera announcement nikalelo thiyo.
I actually don’t feel the need to use high beam in ktm at all. Idk why people use it
these nepalese riders don’t know shit about the impact high beam light causes to other riders out there. it’s so bad that sometimes i’ve to stop my vehicle on the side of the road because I can’t see anything ahead.
Tei ho 10 din driving center gayo latar lutur paryo license nikalyo ani jasarinchalaye nk bho. Lane ko matlab ni chaina, traffic lights ko matlab ni chaina indicator ko matlab ni chaina. Riding at night is the most hated thing for me ajkal because its just so uncomfortable with all these high beam lights.
Flashing them with high beam works for oncomin traffic but not for traffic behind u. Pachadi ko gadi lai kasari bahnne dimag nai hunna kasaiko ni ajkal. Tesai chaliracha nepal ta jasto huncha just like time flows by no matter what u do jasto.
Thansk for srarting a thread on this. I know exactly what you feel because i feel the same. Ita worse for us who wear glasses. I wish the yraffic police did sonething about it- annkahmai light parera you get blinded momentarily, so to speak.
I usually avoid riding at night because of this exact reason. Kaile kai late vayo vane chei afthyaro hunxa. High beam wala agadi xa vane ma ni high beam ma switch handinxu.
i just give them my middle finger and flash my lights
Pass light on off on off
Works 50% of times.
Two wheeler ko high beam can be tolerable tara thulo gadi le ni manena bhane rokerai tharkaune no other options.
Pass light dirakhne ajai namane horn Hanne..
Tara garo xa 2-4 Jana vayepo almost dherai hunxan high beam ma hidne… Afai bistarai chalaune gadi opposite Bata high beam ma aaudaixa vane..
