Its an airport that was asked for about 30-40 years by pokhrelis and promised every election .
Who is against it .
It is a disaster for the environment.the airport is Just 2km away from Damside and 25 kms away from the Annapurnas Conservative zone. Pokhara has continually been mismanaged and the airport is the final straw. Pokhara is now another Kathmandu, they killed the golden goose of tourism.
Nepal’s been signing away contracts (roads, hydro, arms to name a few) with neighbouring nations for projects its unable to do by itself. The difference with the Chinese is that at least the projects been completed – the money actually went to building the infrastructure, unlike MCC where the money will filter through the layers of bureaucratic pockets before trickling down to the project which possibly won’t see a completion for at least two decades.
And there are people who want another international airport in Nijgad.
i remember everyone bashing me when i said this is one of the most useless development, done due to poor management of the nation in the comments.
