Found this map on sexual orientation laws in the world – saw Nepal as only country in basis with dark blue (above US and Australia). Was curious what people’s lived experience was?

Tbh I thought same sex marriage was ok, until i moved to west. Sano huda there used to be articles on newspaper keti le keti bihe garo or keta le keta bihe garo, whenever it was case in nepal anywhere, with the couples photograph on articles.
I thought it was normal, and when asked my mom about sama-lingik bihe, she told aatma le aatma roj cha, sharir ta kewal aatma ko bastra ho. I guess we were much more advanced than modern western society, and in recent time, i realized my mom was OG lgbtq ally.
Haha, look at Bhutan over there in red, with their happiness index and happiest country on earth bullshit
There is something in law and then there’s something else in the community. The law is clearly liberal on this. But i dont think the society is.
Hindus have transexuals in Mahabharat
